When Netflix's “Sex Education” first premiered in January 2019, the show quickly garnered a fan base, many of whom became obsessed with the witty, genius, bad girl character that is Maeve Wiley.

It wasn’t long before fans began declaring their love for both the character and actress Emma Mackey on social media in response to each new episode. Now that “Sex Education” Season 2 has been released, the love for Mackey only seems to have grown stronger.

Unfortunately for fans, 24-year-old, French-born Mackey has a boyfriend of two years. His name is Dan Whitlam.

So, just who is her boyfriend? Here's what we know:

Whitlam is a fellow actor that studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, according to the Evening Standard. Little is known about him other than he acted in "All Quiet on the Western Front" for Pleasance Theatre in London and that he is a 6-foot, 4-inch redhead who towers over Mackey in nearly every photo.

Although Mackey and Whitlam prefer to keep the details of their intimate life private, they do post about each other frequently on their Instagrams. PopSugar recently released a roundup of some of their couple photos.

Mackey herself seemingly declared their relationship official in January 2018 when she posted this photo of the pair with the handholding emoji.

Last year, they went on a vacation in Cannes, France, and Whitlam documented the trip on his own Instagram. The images show various images of the two actors posing together, and surrounded by friends on a beach.
