Who Gets Mary Tyler Moore’s Money? After Death ‘Ordinary People’ Actress’ Net Worth, Estate Now Up For Grabs
The death of legendary actress Mary Tyler Moore on Wednesday has given way to questions about her financial assets. During her lifetime, she appeared in a number of shows and movies, amassing quite a bit of wealth. Now that the actress has died, many can’t help but wonder what will happen to that fortune.
The Richest estimates that Moore was worth a whopping $60 million. At the time of her death she was married to Robert Levine, with whom she tied the knot in 1983. Moore’s only child, Richie Meeker, died in October of 1980. As such, it seems likely that Levine will inherit any assets she left behind. However, no official announcement has been made about what will happen to actress’ money, estate or last will.
The “Mary Tyler Moore Show” actress’ representative confirmed her death on Wednesday in a statement to The Huffington Post. Mara Buxbaum told the publication that Moore died surrounded by her husband as well as several close friends. She went on to say that in addition to her many noteworthy career moves as an actress, Moore “will be remembered as a fearless visionary.”
“Today, beloved icon, Mary Tyler Moore, passed away at the age of 80 in the company of friends and her loving husband of over 33 years, Dr. S. Robert Levine. A groundbreaking actress, producer, and passionate advocate for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Mary will be remembered as a fearless visionary who turned the world on with her smile,” Buxbaum’s statement read.
Prior to the news of Moore’s passing, TMZ reported that the mother of one had been hospitalized in Connecticut. The publication claimed that sources close to her family revealed that those who knew Moore best had been popping in at the hospital to say their final goodbyes. Moore had been battling diabetes for some time and, as TMZ noted, underwent brain surgery in 2011. It is not clear what the cause of her death is at this time. She is said to have been battling a number of different health issues.
