Update- 10/11/17 1:32 p.m.: Ben Affleck has since taken to social media to discuss the story and apologize to Hilarie Burton.

Original Story:

Following a statement about the claims Harvey Weinstein sexually harassed several women in Hollywood over decades, Ben Affleck is facing allegations of similar behavior as well, after an incident from a 2003 guest appearance on MTV's 'TRL' resurfaced online.

Just hours after Affleck released a statement about the allegations against Weinstein, fans and others have slammed the actor for his comments, with one fan blasting him for mentioning that more protection was needed for women, including daughters, because of his own alleged actions over the years. That statement led to another fan bringing up how the actor grabbed actress Hilarie Burton's breasts during the 'TRL' appearance, something the now 35-year-old actress then spoke out about.

In a series of tweets, Burton, who was a host on the show, engaged with the fan who brought up the incident, saying she didn't forget it happened, indicating she was "just a kid," at the time.

Burton then also shared a video that was meant to show a light-hearted look behind-the-scenes of "TRL," but shows her laughing off two incidents with Affleck. In the first, she jokes about how someone "came over and tweaked my left boob." In the second, Affleck appears in an interview segment with her, flirtatiously asking her how old she is, before she laughs it off.

Accompanying the video, Burton tweeted that she was in awe over the women who were brave enough to come forward with their own stories, admitting that her laughing it off in the video was her way of coping at the time because she was too scared to come forward.

Since that incident, Burton went on to find some bigger success as an actress. She debuted on the WB (later CW's) major hit series "One Tree Hill" one year later as Peyton Sawyer, one of the lead female characters in the series. The character, who was portrayed as a high school cheerleader who loved classic rock and punk music and was a secret tortured artist, was almost a victim of sexual assault on the show's first season, when her character attended a college party and was drugged by a man who tried to rape her.

Burton went on to star on the series for the first six seasons, leaving at the end of Season 6 along with her co-star and on-screen love interest, Lucas (Chad Michael Murray). Following that, she also went on to star as Sara Ellis on "White Collar" for three years, and currently stars as Karen Palmer on the "Lethal Weapon" TV reboot.

Most recently, Burton made headlines after attending the Emmy Awards with her husband, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who portrays Negan on AMC's "The Walking Dead." While walking the red carpet with her husband, whom she married in 2014, Burton revealed a baby bump, sharing that they were expecting their second child together. They previously welcomed a son, Augustus, together in 2010.

As for the incident with Affleck, neither he nor anyone else from his team have responded to Burton's claims.
