Who is invited to the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton?
St. James Palace has released the royal wedding guest list which contains an interesting mix of royal dignitaries, celebrities, sports stars and diplomats.
The 1900 guests invited for the intimate service at the Westminster Abbey has mostly been selected by William and Kate themselves. The would-be princess has also invited old acquaintances from Berkshite in England, the place where Middleton grew up.
This includes her home parish of Bucklebury in Berkshire; John Haley, the landlord of Kate's favourite country pub the Old Boot Inn; butcher Martin Fidler and local postman Ryan Naylor.
The list of celebrities attending the Abbey service is headed by David and Victoria Beckham, Sir Elton John and partner David Furnish, television presenter Ben Fogle and wife Marina and Tara Palmer-Tomkinson.
Royal dignitaries include the king and queen of Norway, the grand duke of Luxembourg and a clutch of Middle Eastern princes, the queens of Denmark and Spain and crown princes. A number of religious leaders and representatives will also be present at the occasion apart from the bishop of London and the archbishop of Canterbury.
