Who Is Laura Osnes? Hallmark 'In The Key Of Love' Star 'Doppelgänger' For This Actress
Laura Osnes did not star in the “Notebook” or “Mean Girls,” but the Hallmark star is embracing her physical similarities to Rachel McAdams. The actress posted a photo of herself next to McAdams on Twitter Monday after a fan said that that she’d noticed similarities between the two while watching Osnes’ latest movie “In The Key Of Love.”
While fans didn’t say if they saw any specific similarities between the two, many agreed that both are “beautiful.”
One fan tweeted: “Both very attractive beautiful talented actors!!!! And those smiles can melt an iceberg, no wonder Antarctica has melted!!!! Lol”
Osnes shows off her smile alongside Scott Michael Foster in Hallmark’s “In The Key Of Love,” which premiered on Sunday. The 34-year-old stars as a photographer named Maggie who reconnects with her ex-boyfriend while working at a wedding. The two’s musical past helps ease their tensions. The film airs again on Tuesday at 8 p.m. EDT.
She has also starred in the network’s “A Homecoming for the Holidays” film as a country singer named Charlotte. Her country singing character joins forces with her brother’s fellow ex-soldier to build a house for a mutual friend.
“I think it’s a very vulnerable thing to write music and share it because you write from experience,” Osnes explained to the network at the time of the film’s release. “It’s sharing a piece of yourself that’s very vulnerable but also very beautiful.”
So what makes Osnes perfect for these sing-songy roles? The actress has a number of major Broadway credits. Most recently, she starred in the Tony Award-winning musical “Bandstand.” Her Broadway debut as Sandy Dumbrowski in “Grease” was earned by competing on the reality show "Grease: You're the One that I Want!" She also has embodied the fairytale princess in Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” and Bonnie Parker in “Bonnie and Clyde,” both of which earned her Tony nominations for best lead actress in a musical.
Her numerous television credits include CBS’s “Elementary,” HBO’s "Six by Sondheim" and PBS’s “Live From Lincoln Center: Bernstein On Broadway.”
In real life, Osnes is married to photographer and film producer Nathan Johnson. The two wed in 2007. The star shares photos of herself and Johnson as well as behind-the-scenes clips from various projects on her Instagram @LauraOsnes.
