Haven't heard of Lauren Cosgrove yet? Chances are most people will know who she is pretty soon. The blonde beauty is one-half of the new American “it” couple thanks to T.J. Oshie’s stellar performance at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Oshie is suddenly America's favorite hockey player after his stunning four-goal shootout led the U.S. team to a 3-2 victory over Russia on Saturday, but there’s also been an intense focus on his significant other. Who is this beautiful blonde cheering on the 27-year-old St. Louis Blues forward?

Cosgrove isn’t attending the Olympics because she is eight months pregnant. Right before Oshie left for Russia he reportedly proposed to his lover on their third anniversary. Cosgrove is due to give birth on St. Patrick’s Day. In fact, she might even give birth before he fiancé gets back from Sochi.

She told reporters at St. Louis Today about Team USA’s win: “A slew of emotions came over me when T.J. scored the final goal. There’s so much going on in our lives. I wish I was over there, but being 33 weeks pregnant, I’d only last an hour and then I’d have to be horizontal.”

The couple met in college. Like her fiancé, Cosgrove is a Missouri native, but the two met in North Dakota, The Heavy wrote.

Cosgrove told KSDK she wasn’t surprised Oshie rocketed to fame after USA’s win. “He's been a heartthrob for a while, here in St. Louis at least,” she said. But Cosgrove is now a celebrity too; she’s gained nearly 5,000 Twitter followers since the Olympic win this weekend.

But the couple doesn’t seek the limelight. “I hope this all blows over pretty quick,” she said. In regards to how the fame is affecting her husband-to-be: “This isn't really him,” she said. “He's so low-key.” On Saturday she tweeted: “I can’t handle this.”

Oshie’s fiancé has a prediction: “I definitely have faith in Team USA and I think they have a shot at the the gold.” If she’s right, the media frenzy probably won't fade any time soon. Some people have begun to draw a comparison to Katherine Webb, the belle of Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron. The American model, 24, shot to stardom after she appeared on the broadcast of the 2013 BCS National Championship Game -- similar to the sensation Cosgrove has made. Webb has gone on to become a television personality.

If Cosgrove turns out to be anything like Webb, she better get used to being in the spotlight. Some Twitter users rate her as popular than Oshie. Others have written they want to be just like her, while some have tweeted that Cosgrove is Oshie’s gold trophy. Check out their comments below:
