Cory Booker, the Newark mayor and New Jersey Senate candidate, is known as a champion tweeter.

With more than 1.4 million followers on Twitter, the rising Democratic politician has been praised for his effortless embrace of social media. But recently revealed messages between the single mayor and a performer at a “vegan strip club” in Portland, Ore., have drawn a few social media side eyes from his supporters.

Honestly, the contents of the exchange can at worst be described as flirtatious, with Booker telling 26-year-old stripper Lynsie Lee that "the East Coast loves you, and by the East Coast, I mean me" -- G-rated talk compared to the racy ramblings of Mr. Carlos Danger himself, Anthony Weiner. And Booker stands behind his right to message whomever he pleases, with spokesman Kevin Griffis telling the New York Times that Booker "talks with people from all walks of life on Twitter" and that the "most shocking part of the story was learning that there is a vegan strip club in Portland.”

1. She Isn't Vegan

Even though she was identified as a "vegan stripper" as recently as Thursday morning's episode of MSNBC's "Morning Joe," it turns out Lee is actually a fan of animal products. “I’m not even vegan. My strip club is,” she clarified on her Twitter feed on Wednesday. The establishment -- named Casa Diablo -- claims to be the world's first vegan strip club.

2. She Is Known For Her Amusing Tweets

Even before she was thrust into her 15 minutes of dubious fame, Lee had already gained a large following for her witty comments on Twitter. She is even featured in "Follow Friday: The Film" -- a documentary about Twitter. Booker also appears in the film, but they have never met in person.

3. She Has Chatted With Booker Only One Time

That's right! The playful thread below marks the only time the pair have ever exchanged messages. "That's the only message we had together," Lee told TMZ of the exceptionally brief chat between her and Booker.

4. She Attended To College For Three Years

Lee isn't just all looks and Twitter wit. The single mother actually attended college for three years but decided dancing might prove more lucrative than completing her degree credits. "I realized I would make more dancing than I would with a college degree in this economy," said Lee in her TMZ interview.

5. She Has Aspirations Of Being First Lady

Lee admits she is pretty smitten with Booker, whom she described as a "perfect gentleman" when speaking to the Daily Beast. She believes in Booker so much that she has already claimed her spot as first lady if Booker's eventual bid for president proves to be a success. “When he’s president, I want to be his first lady. I think a stripper would make a great first lady. I have better arms than Michele Obama, OK?” she said.
