Who Is Matt Graham? Meet ‘Dual Survival’ New Guy And Cody Lundin Replacement
To the dismay of many fans of Discovery’s “Dual Survival,” aboriginal living skills specialist Cody Lundin was fired from the show in the middle of Season 4. And he has been replaced with Matt Graham.
Though he’s the “new guy” on “Dual Survival,” Graham is no stranger to reality television. He appeared on the Discovery show “Dude, You’re Screwed” and was featured in the documentary “Living Wild.” According to Yahoo TV, he was consulted for other endurance reality shows like “The Amazing Race” and “Survivorman,” which features Les Stroud.
Graham might not battle the harsh elements barefooted like Lundin, but he seems to be mighty qualified to co-host the show with special operations veteran Joe Teti. Considering Lundin was the partner who was always responsible for making the fire, fans wondered if his replacement would be able to hack it, but with Graham’s résumé, it seems as if he does have some fire-making skills of his own.
Yahoo revealed that Graham -- who made his first appearance on the hit Discovery show Wednesday -- lives alone in Utah’s wilderness for six months out of the year. He's a long-bow hunter and a world-class spear thrower. He’s also a martial artist who has studied Judo, Tae Kwan Do, Wushu Kung fu, and Jeet Kune Do.
During an interview with Yahoo TV, Graham said he was thrilled for his new gig as Lundin’s replacement, even though it was short notice. “My passion for the land is absolute,” he said. “I liked the idea of getting my feet dirty and being able to add my own creative energy to each episode, and to give the audience a connection to some of the Earth's most amazing places.”
Season 4 of “Dual Survival” airs on Discovery Channel on Wednesday nights at 9/8c.
