Who Is Miranda Barbour? Teenager Admits To Killing Over 22 People
In a story that sounds like a fictitious Lifetime movie, “Craiglists killers” Miranda Barbour, 19, and her husband are already in jail for the death of Troy LaFerrara. The 42-year-old reportedly solicited Miranda for sex through Craigslist in November 2013, but it turns out there is much more blood on the teenager’s hands. After a stunning phone interview from jail, the teen said she doesn’t even remember how many people she killed after she was forced to kill at the age of 13 as a part of a satanic cult.
“When I hit 22, I stopped counting,” Miranda told the Sunbury, Penn., Daily Item in an interview from jail on Friday. “I can pinpoint on a map where you can find them. I remember everything. It’s like watching a movie.” The teenager said her string of murders stemmed from when she joined a satanic cult based in Alaska 6 years ago.
She told a story about her first kill. She was too afraid to pull the trigger, so leader of the cult held his hand over hers and helped her administer the final blow to end the victim’s life. “And then from there I just continued to kill,” she said. The man they killed apparently owed the cult leader money.
In a “Dexter-like” twist, Barbour said she only killed people who deserved to die. “I would lure these people in,” she said. “I studied them. I learned them and even became their friend.” She said the victims “did bad things and didn’t deserve to be here anymore.”
The teenage killer and her 22-year-old husband, Elytte, are facing the death penalty for killing Troy LaFerrara, who was stabbed 20 times. Investigators are calling the murder a “thrill kill” and said they lured LaFerrara so they could take his life and celebrate their three-week wedding anniversary.
Barbour doesn’t have any regrets. "If I were to be released, I would do this again," she told the newspaper.
