Because of this, the World Health Organization is introducing an app for iOS, Android, and Web app.

Initially, the app was proposed by volunteer experts who call themselves the WHO COVID App Collective. The team is made up of former Microsoft and Google employees, industry experts, and WHO ambassadors and advisors.

Based on the original design document of the WHO MyHealth, the app will provide alert notifications relative to the user’s location. It could also come with the possible self-triage tools to help users self-diagnose and check if the symptoms match those of COVID-19. The roadmap of WHO MyApp reveals that the team initially planned to launch the first variation of the app on iOS and Android on Mar. 30.
