It was a very merry Christmas for Ryan Phillippe! According to reports, the 41-year-old actor proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Paulina Slagter, over the holiday weekend — and she said yes!

E! News confirmed the exciting news, noting that a source spotted Phillipee’s fiancée, 24, sporting her dazzling ring while the two were soaking up the sun in Miami, Florida.

"They arrived in Miami on Sunday and had lunch at Seaspice, where they ate facing the river at the owner's table,” an insider revealed. “She was really cute and humble about the way she showed off the ring.”

People magazine added that the newly engaged couple will bunker down in the Sunshine State to ring in the new year together at an exclusive New Year's Eve party on Watson Island. This will be the second year in a row that the “Secrets and Lies” star has attended the bash. But before the clock strikes 12 — and the duo share their first kiss in 2016 as an engaged couple — here are some things you should know about Hollywood’s newest (and dare we say hottest?) pair:

1. Longtime Lovers

According to Us Weekly, Phillippe and Slagter have been dating four, long years.

2. Christmas Fanatics

No wonder Phillippe picked Christmas as the day he would propose to Slagter! In December 2014, a picture was posted to Twitter of the two sitting on Santa’s lap on what looked like a pretty festive occasion. Guess it’s safe to say the holiday season just became ever more special for the Christmas-lovers!

3. Beauty And Brains

During an interview with Howard Stern in April, Phillippe revealed that his now-fiancée will be graduating from Stanford Law in 2016.

"She's awesome. When people see her they have these judgments because she could be a model but she's about to graduate Stanford Law," he said before gushing about how proud he is her. "Also what's great about it — as you get older certain issues become more important to you. I'm very involved in civil rights issues, and so to be with a woman who could actually make an impact in the legal realm — that's a beautiful thing."

The Loyola Marymount University graduate has had her fair share of experience in the field, taking on roles as a Political and Economic Intern and a Parliamentary Caseworker and Research Assistant. But currently, Slagter is working as a Summer Trial Clerk for the Federal Public Defender Central District of California, per her LinkedIn page.

Saying “yes” to Phillippe’s proposal also meant that Slagter was agreeing to become the stepmother of her fiancé's three children. Phillippe has two kids with his ex-wife Reese Witherspoon: a 16-year-old daughter Ava and a 12-year-old son Deacon. The sandy-haired artist also has a 4-year-old daughter named Kailani with model/actress Alexis Knapp.

6. Surprise By Phillippe’s Wild Past

In 2014, Phillippe helped celebrate Stern’s 60th birthday by not only attending the radio host’s bash but by performing a strip tease for Stern’s co-host Robin Quivers.

"The fallout from [the strip tease] was — my girlfriend said, 'What did you do? You just stripped on this show!?' She's a bit younger so her familiarity with the show wasn't to the same degree,” the actor told Stern. “So I had to explain to her that I wasn't really naked."
