Who Is Rob Franklin? Malia Obama, Former First Daughter, Spotted Enjoying Time With New ‘Mystery Guy’

Malia Obama has been spotted spending a lot of time with her friends in New York City lately. She also has been working for her internship at Harvey Weinstein’s highly acclaimed production company before heading to Harvard. According to photos that emerged on the social media Thursday, Malia was seen hanging out with a tall, handsome young man who has been identified as Rob Franklin, a 2015 graduate of Stanford University.

TMZ reported that the two met at Men's Fashion Week in New York. Although people have started speculating about the former first daughter's relationship with Franklin, his friends told TMZ that he and the daughter of Barack and Michelle Obama are nothing more than friends and their relationship is "strictly platonic."

Malia and Franklin have a lot in common when it comes to their professional interests in arts and media. Franklin is a Stanford graduate and he loves the theater. During his college years, Franklin acted in numerous school theater productions and also played lead in a musical called "Spring Awakening" in 2013. Malia will start her freshman year in the fall at Harvard university, according to Mercury News.

According to Franklin’s LinkedIn page, he has been working with the website Artsy.net as an audience development manager for the last three months. He has also done internships with NPR, BuzzFeed and Half Moon Bay. The current site he works for "features the world’s leading galleries, museum collections, foundations, artist estates, art fairs, and benefit auctions, all in one place."

Franklin is capable of speaking four language — English, Spanish, French and Mandarin Chinese. His LinkedIn account mentions that he has "professional" proficiency in French and Mandarin Chinese, but "limited" in Spanish.

After their pictures together surfaced on the internet, people noticed that Franklin is 3 inches taller than the former first daughter who is reportedly 6 feet 1 inch.

Franklin is believed to be quite fashion forward too, as he attends several fashion shows in New York. He also donned a fashionable look wearing a black coat, belted at the waist and black leather boots while he was spotted with Malia, according to Hollywood Life.
