Simon Runting is being outed by singer Lorde as a stalker, after he continuously photographed her. The 17-year-old even claimed she is “scared” of him.

The teenage Grammy-winner took to Twitter over the weekend to voice her opinion about Runting, a paparazzi photographer who was also criticized by Rihanna last October, after he took unflattering photos of her while she was in a hotel room.

Lorde tweeted, "this man has been stalking me, photographing me and refusing me privacy. i am scared of him. he frequents central akl (Auckland)." She went on to say, "this should not be an accepted standard for young women or anyone in this industry.

"i understand this comes with the territory [sic]. i do not understand why i should be complacent [sic]."

The singer, whose real name is Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O'Connor, became a household name after the 56th Annual Grammy Awards in January, as the newcomer won two coveted awards for her hit song “Royals.” The tune was released in 2012, and by the end of 2013, was dubbed one of the year's best songs by publications such as Rolling Stone. It was also the second-longest-running No. 1 pop hit of 2013.

Lorde, who is currently in her final year at Takapuna Grammar School in Auckland, looked overwhelmed as she received the awards in dark plum lipstick and a long-sleeved black gown. “This is the one thing that I did not expect the most about tonight. Thank you so much. … I have been so inspired by all of your vocal work at some point in my life, so thank you and thank you all so much,” Lorde said during one of her acceptance speeches.

“Royals” earned her an award for Best Pop Solo Performance and Song of the Year. Lorde, who is of Croatian and Irish descent, became the first solo artist from New Zealand to top the U.S. Hot 100, and the youngest artist to hold the U.S. No. 1 position in more than 25 years.
