Who Is Still Alive After ‘Avengers: Infinity War’? A Refresher Before ‘Endgame’
The end of “Avengers: Infinity War” was traumatizing for Marvel fans. It felt like almost everyone died, but, of course, there were some survivors. These are the people still alive ahead “Avengers: Endgame.”
The original six are alive and…let’s not say well. Last time fans saw them, Iron Man was stuck in space while the others were in shock as they realized Thanos (Josh Brolin) snapped half of all life out of existence. Expect these heroes to all work to undo the Snap in “Endgame”:
- Captain America/Steve Rogers (Chris Evans)
- Iron Man/Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.)
- Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson)
- Hulk/Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo)
- Thor (Chris Hemsworth)
- Hawkeye/Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner)
They won’t be alone. Iron Man was stuck on Titan with Nebula (Karen Gillan) after everyone else died. War Machine/James “Rhodey” Rhodes (Don Cheadle) was last seen looking for dusted heroes in Wakanda, and he wasn’t the only one. Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper) was distraught watching his best friend turn to dust, and Okoye (Danai Gurira) looked terrified as she witnessed her king fade away. M’Baku (Winston Duke) also survived while on the battlefield, but it isn’t known if he’ll show up in “Avengers: Endgame.”
Though Wong (Benedict Wong) was only in the first part of “Infinity War,” the “Endgame” posters reveal that he survived Thanos’ decimation. The same goes for Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), Iron Man’s fiancée.
There were a few characters not seen in “Infinity War” who survived in addition to Hawkeye. Tony’s driver Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) is alive, and the fierce Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), introduced in “Thor: Ragnarok,” apparently survived the attack on the Asgardian refugee ship.
Other characters’ survivals were revealed in later movies. “Ant-Man and the Wasp” ended with Ant-Man/Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) being stuck in the Quantum Realm after his team got caught in the Snap. The post-credits scene in “Captain Marvel” revealed that Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) is alive too.
Will there be any other survivors? Will they manage to save everyone from the Snap? Will they die in the process? Fans will have to watch “Avengers: Endgame,” in theaters Friday, to find out.
