Elon Musk had his fair share of relationships and divorces, but there was only one woman in his life he married and divorced twice, and she’s Talulah Riley.

The 36-year-old English writer revealed in an interview with The Independent that their decision to re-marry “made sense” at the time despite how fans and their peers perceived it as “strange.”

The actress first married the 51-year-old multibillionaire in 2010 and divorced in 2012. They married again a year later and finally separated in 2016.

“I suppose the reason to get remarried was just because it felt silly to be together unmarried after having been married. You know, it’s like a habit. We were saying, ‘This is my husband.’ ‘This is my wife.’ ‘Oh, wait, no, we’re not that anymore. We better be that again,’” Riley said.

Talulah also said that she shared a “very deep love and connection” with the Tesla founder. She even acknowledged Musk in her recently released book “The Quickening.” She reportedly thanked him for being the “perfect ex-husband” in her tome.

She continued, “He’s a great friend. He looks out for me. We are in a happy place now, where we’re good to each other, which is really nice. I have the utmost love for him.”

The “Pride and Prejudice” star launched the new book, which is about a terrifying dystopian matriarchy where the future is run by females, and men are only second-class citizens. Riley had recently taken a break from her acting career to care for her ex-husband's five children in a Bel Air mansion from his first marriage to Justine Musk.

“It wasn’t really a traditional housewife role. I mean, there were the rockets and the cars, and there were things blowing up… there was a lot going on – a lot that was very stimulating,” she explained.

She added, “We [her and Musk’s kids] were very involved in what was going on. It was a group effort. A family-wide effort. Elon was great. He had me alongside for all of that. So, it wasn’t like I was stuck in a mansion in Bel Air like a trophy wife, which would not have been fun. I did, of course, witness that for others. But luckily, that was not my fate.”

Aside from the 2005 film “Pride and Prejudice” directed by Joe Wright, Riley also starred in “St. Trinian's” in 2005 and its sequel “St Trinian's 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold” in 2009.

Riley is now living in her hometown Hertfordshire, England, with her new beau Thomas Brodie-Sangster, whom she met through her new series “Pistol.”
