Who Will Be Trump's Supreme Court Pick? President Will Use Facebook Live To Announce Nominee Tonight
President Donald Trump will reveal his Supreme Court nominee Tuesday night on Facebook Live, the White House announced on Twitter.
The announcement will be made at 8 p.m. EST. Trump’s rumored top two picks for the job are Thomas Hardiman, a federal judge on the court of appeals for the third circuit in Philadelphia, and Neil Gorsuch, a circuit judge with the court of appeals for the 10th circuit in Denver. Hardiman and Gorsuch have been both brought to the White House, CNN reported Tuesday.
Although Trump loves to tweet, he has chosen Facebook as the platform to reveal his pick for the Supreme Court position.
“Join @POTUS Trump tonight at 8pm EST as he announces his #SCOTUS pick! We'll be streaming the historic event LIVE,” said the White House in a tweet.
Trump has used Facebook Live for other announcements and press conferences since he was inaugurated. Promoting his announcement on Facebook could also help Trump evade TV networks. Trump and his administration have been strongly feuding against the media. Trump said recently that he uses Twitter to shield against the “unbelievably dishonest” media.
“Look, I don’t like tweeting, I have other things I can be doing,” Trump told Fox News. “But I get very dishonest media, very dishonest press. And it’s my only way that I can counteract. When people make misstatements about me, I’m able to say it and call it out.”
