Who Will Play In Super Bowl 2023? Odds For Possible Matchups
The Super Bowl 2023 matchup is almost set. Sunday's AFC and NFC championship games will determine which two teams will square off at Arizona's State Farm Stadium on Feb. 12 with the NFL championship on the line.
Who will play in the Super Bowl 57? The latest odds suggest that a game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Philadelphia Eagles is the mostly likely matchup. The odds of the Bengals meeting the Eagles in Super Bowl 2023 are +200 at FanDuel Sportsbook.
The second-most likely matchup would see the Kansas City Chiefs take on Philadelphia in the Super Bowl. The odds of Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts, the league's top two MVP candidates, going head-to-head in the Super Bowl are +250.
With +300 odds, another Super Bowl meeting between the Bengals and San Francisco 49ers is third on the list of possibilities. Joe Montana and the 49ers kept the Bengals from winning their first-ever Super Bowl when the two franchises met in the big game in both 1982 and 1989.
It was only three years ago that the Chiefs beat the 49ers in the Super Bowl. A rematch between Kansas City and San Francisco has +350 odds and is viewed as the least likely possible outcome.
All four franchises have made recent Super Bowl appearances. The Bengals were defeated by the Los Angeles Rams 23-20 in last year's Super Bowl, once again coming just short of winning the title. In the season after beating San Francisco for the championship, Kansas City was on the losing end of the Super Bowl against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Eagles have the longest Super Bowl drought of the final four teams. It was five years ago that Philadelphia won its first-ever Super Bowl title when Nick Foles and the Eagles upset Brady and the New England Patriots. Philadelphia has the best odds to win this year's Super Bowl.
The Bengals made a shocking run to the Super Bowl a year ago, starting the season as one of the league's biggest championship long shots. It's not a surprise to see any of the four remaining teams still in contention to win the title.
The Chiefs and 49ers were viewed among the top contenders in the preseason. With Joe Burrow entering his third NFL season, the Bengals have been considered to be a championship threat all season long. The Eagles were the NFC East favorites by Week 1 and quickly became the favorites to represent the conference in the Super Bowl.
After the Super Bowl matchup is set Sunday, both teams will have two weeks to prepare for the game.
