Who Is Wissam Al Mana? Meet Janet Jackson’s Husband As Pregnancy Rumors Swirl
Amid rumors that “Rhythm Nation” singer Janet Jackson is pregnant with her first child two weeks shy of her own 50th birthday, some people have began to wonder about her husband, Wissam Al Mana. Here’s a few key points about him:
The couple has been married since 2012. They called their ceremony “private and beautiful” during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar Arabia. “I’m fortunate enough to be dating my dream woman,” Al Mana told the magazine.
He’s worth an estimated $1 billion. Al Mana is a Qatari businessman whose main company shares his surname and operates in Bahrain, Ireland, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the U.K., as well as Qatar.
Al Mana has been a source of inspiration for Jackson. After they hooked up, the singer dropped her first single in years. And in October, she released her latest album, “Unbreakable,” dedicating the song “No Sleep” to her “love.”
He likes to travel the world. Al Mana talked about his jet-setting ways with Entrepreneur magazine in 2014. “I spend time with my wife. It’s a luxury. We love traveling ... we love going to nice, exotic places far away from the world and from prying eyes,” he said.
You won’t see Al Mana on social media. He considers himself “a very, very private person.” He told Entrepreneur, “I don’t have Facebook, I don’t have Twitter ... I don’t even have WhatsApp!”
Family is important to him. Al Mana’s father died when he was young, which is why he wanted to take over the family business. “My father passed away when I was quite young, and I felt that it was my duty to kind of pick up the flag and to continue the business, and try to continue the legacy and the family name. It’s in our blood, we’re merchants. When I was a child, I looked at my father’s passport, and his occupation said, ‘Merchant,’” he told Entrepreneur. “I asked my mom, and she explained that we are merchants. We take pride in that, it’s our heritage.”
