Who Is Wonder Woman? Gal Gadot Cast In Batman/Superman Movie But Not Without Mixed Reviews

Israeli actress and model Gal Gadot, who appeared in “Fast & Furious 6” alongside the late Paul Walker, was cast as Wonder Woman (aka Diana Prince) in the upcoming and untitled Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman flick, Warner Bros. revealed on Wednesday via Variety.
Director Zack Snyder said this about Gadot in a statement: “Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”
The 28-year-old beauty won the Miss Israel title in 2004 and also served as a sports trainer in the Israel Defense Forces for two years after joining the Israeli military in 2000, she said during an interview with UMM.com.
Gadot took to Twitter to share her excitement over the role after the news made headlines: “Wonder Women! So exciting!!!” she tweeted. “Can't express how happy I am :))))” A few hours later she added: “'m overwhelmed from all the love and positive feedback... I have the best fans in the world - THANK YOU!!! #WonderWoman #sohappy”

The film is set to begin shooting early next year and to make its way into theaters July 17, 2015. She is set to appear alongside Henry Cavil, who played Superman in Snyder’s “Man of Steel” in early 2013, and Ben Affleck, who controversially will take the reins away from “Dark Knight” trilogy actor Christian Bale.
Reactions seemed generally mixed when it came to other Twitterati. While some were happy, others were confused and a few were even upset about the brunette bombshell being chosen as the iconic comic book heroine. Check out some of their responses below:
