Why Alex Rodriguez Was Warned Not To Mess Around With Jennifer Lopez
Alex Rodriguez treats Jennifer Lopez like the queen she is, but one source recently claimed that A-Rod may have been warned to give her the "royalty" treatment.
An insider who claimed to be a "longtime friend" of Rodriguez told Page Six that he warned the former New York Yankees player that he had to treat Lopez like "American royalty." The source also claimed to have told Rodriguez that he must never break up with the "World of Dance" judge and wait for her to dump him instead in the event that they part ways in the future.
"Whatever you do, you cannot mess her around," the source apparently told A-Rod. "If you split up for any reason, she has to be the one to dump your a--."
But the insider added that things seemed to have worked out for Rodriguez and Lopez, who got engaged last week during their getaway to the Bahamas. He said that it was "a lot of pressure on someone to date Jennifer Lopez," but the two "fell in love."
A second source who has worked with A-Rod told Page Six that Rodriguez was indeed holding true to his word and has been giving Lopez the queen treatment. The former MLB star and the singer-actress are "so respectful to each other" and are incredibly supportive of each other's careers and passions.
"When Alex is working for ESPN [as a baseball commentator], Jennifer goes … and sits quietly in the booth because she likes to watch him. They have that kind of relationship," the second insider explained.
Rodriguez was apparently the same as he would often fly to Las Vegas to watch "almost every show" of Lopez's "All I Have" residency." The insider called their support level "incredible."
However, not everyone seems to think that Lopez and Rodriguez's relationship is amazing. Shortly after the couple announced their engagement on Instagram, former baseball pro Jose Canseco alleged that A-Rod had an affair with his ex-wife, Jessica Canseco, behind Lopez's back.
Last week, the former Oakland A took to Twitter to slam Rodriguez and tell him to "stop cheating on Jennifer Lopez." He added that he was willing to take a polygraph test to prove that he was telling the truth.
However, his ex-wife Jessica denied all of his allegations, posting on Twitter that she hasn't even seen Rodriguez in five years.
Lopez and Rodriguez seemed to be completely unfazed by the cheating allegations though, as the two were spotted together several times this week.
