Angelina Jolie was impacted negatively after her divorce from Brad Pitt even though she was the one who filed the motion.

During a recent interview with E! News at the D23 Expo, Jolie admitted to being like everyone else who struggles with their marriage or relationship.

“I’m like everybody and… especially these last few years haven’t been the easiest, and I haven’t felt very strong. There’s something when you’re not feeling very strong, where you push yourself,” she said.

Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016. At that time, reports also swirled that Pitt had an altercation with his son, Maddox, while they were on board a plane. The “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood” star was reportedly intoxicated.

The FBI investigated Pitt’s case, but it was eventually dismissed by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services. Jolie and Pitt also fought over the custody of their six children, but it was the “Maleficent” star who was granted sole physical custody. The court granted Pitt therapeutic visitation.

Following the couple’s divorce, Pitt spoke with GQ that the fallout of his marriage was self-inflicted. After all, he was drinking too much at that time. “ It's hit me smack in the face with our divorce: I gotta be more for them. I have to show them. And I haven't been great at it,” Pitt said.

Meanwhile, Jolie also talked about her upcoming role in “The Eternals.” The award-winning actress said that she’s so grateful for the opportunity to play the role of a superhero because it pulls out every bit of her strength. As such, Jolie’s role reminded her to always be strong.

Jolie will play the role of Thena in “The Eternals.” The character is described as a superhuman with exceptional strength, stamina, speed, reflexes, and durability. “The Eternals” is set a million years ago, which means that it will have a completely different look and feel compared to the “Avengers” franchise.
