What could have been a dream update for “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” fans, particularly for professional gamers, turned into another headache.

Recently, Infinity Ward rolled out a major update that allowed players to play in dedicated servers in custom lobbies of “Modern Warfare.” The said update was made after several pro players cried for more support, particularly in custom matches where rules can be tinkered. Apparently, the regular servers weren’t good enough to handle the demands needed in the competitive scene.

However, instead of incredible gaming experience, players who tried the dedicated server were met with more issues.

According to a report by Dexerto, there are several problems and bugs in the server, most prominent of which was the fact that communication from other matches could be heard on other games.

Sure enough, the problem prompted Infinity Ward to quickly take down the server, avoiding what would have been an even bigger backlash compared to the recent criticisms thrown at the game.

As the Dexerto report noted, it is still unknown when the update will be back up, though it is assumed that Infinity Ward is already investigating the issue and should be able to provide an update sooner rather than later.

The turn of events, however, is certainly disappointing for fans and players who have waited for a long time to get a dedicated server. The game’s competitive scene has been clamoring for it for some time now, so for the update to be full of bugs could be frustrating to a lot of people.

For what it’s worth, “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” has been out for eight months already – having been released in September 2019. It has also been widely popular since its launch.

Fortunately for Infinity Ward, it has been providing consistent content and updates to “Modern Warfare,” showing that it remains dedicated to serving its fan base. Just recently, the game developer and its publisher Activision unveiled the “Ghost Pack Contingency” bundle that features a new skin, operator and two new epic weapons.

“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” is currently playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
