Why This Celebrity Got Blocked From A Dating App
Celebs need love too. So it was no big deal for Sharon Stone to hop on Bumble to look for romance until she got blocked.
The "Basic Instinct" actress took to social media to express her feelings after finding out the news.
"I went on the @bumble dating sight [sic] and they closed my account. Some users reported that it couldn’t possibly be me! Hey @bumble, is being me exclusionary ? Don’t shut me out of the hive," she tweeted, along with a screenshot of the notification she received.
Stone wasn't inconvenienced for long though. Shortly after she blasted the dating app on Twitter, Claire O'Connor, the editorial director for Bumble, notified her that her account was back in their good graces.
"AHA! @sharonstone, we at @bumble found your account, unblocked you, and ensured this won't happen again," O' Connor responded. "You can get back to Bumbling! Thanks for bearing with us and hope you find your honey."
Bumble is most known for being a dating app. The main feature that sets it apart from others is that "when members of the opposite sex match on Bumble, women are required to make the first move, shifting old-fashioned power dynamics and encouraging equality from the start," as explained by their website. The site also offers "BFF" and "BIZZ" modes so that users can also network and build friendships.
Stone is back in the dating game now. The 61-year-old was married twice before and has three sons. She was last linked romantically to real estate mogul Angelo Boffa in 2018, but she revealed to People last year that she's fine on her own.
"I think somewhere in the back of your mind you think maybe one day you won’t be a single parent,” she said at the time. "Then, eventually, you realize, I think it’s better. I’m no longer hoping for someone."
