Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert have pulled out of their scheduled performance for the finale of "Dancing with the Stars" Season 31.
The 37-year-old newest judge of the reality ballroom dancing competition and his 28-year-old dancer partner revealed via social media Sunday that they won't be performing at the finale anymore.
In a video he shared on Instagram, Hough shared that his fiancée got injured while they were doing the camera blocking for the live show.
"We were going to be doing a performance for tomorrow's finale on 'Dancing With the Stars,' but during camera blocking just now, we, unfortunately, there was an injury, and we're going to have to pull out," the six-time "DWTS" champ explained in the video.
He continued, "It was looking beautiful, but we just got to take priority over her health. Hayley here hurt her shoulder, and we tried dancing through it, but unfortunately, it was one of those like you can't really dance through because you just don't mess around with shoulder injuries basically."
In his lengthy caption for the post, Hough further shared that Erbert fell "awkwardly and hard onto her shoulder" during their rehearsal. She was ready to push through with their performance, but they ultimately thought it was best for her to dance some other time.
Although they won't be able to dance during the finale episode of the Disney+ series on Monday at 8 p.m. EST, the dance partners would still be there. Hough would be doing his judge duties, while Erbert would be in the audience cheering the final contestants.
Four dance couples will battle it out for the mirrorball trophy in the finale, including "Bachelorette" lead Gabby Windey and Val Chmerkovskiy, as well as TikTok star Charli D'Amelio and Mark Ballas. They will be joined by "Let's Make a Deal" host Wayne Brady and Witney Carson, as well as "RuPaul's Drag Race" alum Shangela and Gleb Savchenko, according to The Blast.
Meanwhile, longtime judge Len Goodman announced earlier this month his retirement from the series after 17 years.
"I've been with the show since it started in 2005, and it has been a huge pleasure to be part of such a wonderful show. But I've decided I'd like to spend more time with my grandchildren and family back in Britain," the 78-year-old professional ballroom dancer explained on the show.
Aside from Goodman, pro dancer Cheryl Burke has also announced that she would be leaving the series after 26 seasons. The 38-year-old explained on Instagram over the weekend that she would like to focus on her mental health advocacy and her newfound love for podcasting moving forward.
