On Tuesday, joyful posts spread across Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram as fans celebrated the birth Monday of Ciara’s first child with her fiancé, rapper Future.

And then came official word of the 9-pound, 10-ounce baby’s name, Future Zahir Wilburn. Though it is a fairly typical tradition to name a child after his father, the fact that little Future is named after his father’s stage name left many stumped.

Future’s given name, Nayvadius Cash, is in no way the most conventional. But a collective feeling of baby-name shock and confusion filled timelines as people attempted to understand the couple’s reasoning. Not to mention, the little one won't even be eligible to be an actual Jr. since Future isn't his father's real name.
