It seems Tyga’s inability to keep up with Kylie Jenner may have cost him his relationship. News of the couple’s split broke on Thursday, though they reportedly split prior to the Met Gala on May 2.

Sources tell TMZ that Jenner may have dumped Tyga, 26, due to his commitment to his music. She reportedly realized she wasn’t living life to the fullest. Jenner, 18, is said to have wanted to jet set and do appearances, which didn’t fit in with Tyga’s studio schedule. The publication’s source adds that the split was amicable, as both knew it simply wasn’t going to work. Tyga and his longtime girlfriend had been fighting constantly over “dumb stuff,” which wasn’t helping matters any in their already disjointed relationship.

Earlier this week TMZ published a story claiming that Jenner had broken up with the “Stimulated” rapper. The publication reported that the couple called things off before the Met Gala, which both were invited too. Their first awkward run-in took place during the event. Both Tyga and Jenner showed up to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City for the biggest night in fashion, though they walked the red carpet separately. The “KUWTK” star was said to have been angry that her former beau showed up at the event at all, as sources said he was only invited because of his ties to her.

Although their split is fresh, it appears Tyga is over it — or trying to create the illusion that he is. The father of one was spotted out to brunch on Mother’s Day with his mom and a model by his side. It remains unclear whether the woman in question is romantically involved with the rapper and he’d like to keep it that way. Sources said he has refused to speak to friends about the status of his relationship with the mystery lady.

This is hardly the first time Tyga and Jenner have called it quits during their two year relationship. In November 2015, around the same time as the rapper’s birthday, the duo are said to have taken a break from one another. They got back together shortly after, which Jenner confirmed with a Snapchat photo.
