Why Did Miranda Kerr And Orlando Bloom Split After 6 Years? Couple Confirms End Of Marriage
Former Victoria’s Secret Angel Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom are no longer together, after being married for three years. The pair dated for three years before marrying in an intimate ceremony in 2010.
Their last public appearance together was in September, when Kerr, 30, showed her support for Bloom, 36, at the opening night of the Broadway production of “Romeo and Juliet.” The actor plays Romeo in the Shakespeare play.
Bloom’s rep confirmed the news to E! "In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months," the rep said. "After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation. Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family."
The Australian beauty has a 2-year-old son, Flynn, with the actor. Flynn is named after Kerr's ex-boyfriend, Christopher Middlebrook, who passed away in a car accident when he was a teenager.
"Chris and I had been dating two years. After he died, I wrote him a letter that said I hoped to name my first after him in some way. I told Orlando and he was the one who said he'd be happy to do that. Orlando's a good guy," she said in an interview with Australia's Daily Telegraph in 2011.
Was her rumored diva behavior too much for Bloom? In March, speculation was confirmed that Kerr’s $1 million, three-year contract with Victoria’s Secret wouldn't be renewed.
The media reported that it was due to “diva” behavior, though Kerr dismissed those rumors in the Sydney Morning Herald. ''I'm sure anyone that has worked with me would agree that's not true," she said. "This is a natural evolution.”
Bloom previously dated fellow actress Kate Bosworth on-and-off from 2002 to 2006.
