The biggest night in music -- the Grammy Awards -- is known for its surprising, and sometimes shocking, moments. Viewers got one of the evening's first scandalous happenings when hotel heiress and model Paris Hilton showed up to the event with Birdman.

The 44-year-old rapper and the 32-year-old blonde bombshell turned heads when they walked the red carpet together. According to Perez Hilton, the starlet donned an elegant white Christina Milani dress. When the model showed off her dress from behind, lots of skin could be seen. The nude mesh in the rear had an intricate design creating a look that was classy in front, risqué in back.

Birdman, whose real name is Bryan Williams, wore all black. He could have went relatively unnoticed due to his attire, except for the fact that he showed up with Hilton and dons a massive pinky ring.

Hilton has recently been trying to revive the no-underwear look with her dresses. The slits in her Christina Milani frock make it practically impossible to wear any panties -- and it’s hardly the first time the 32-year-old has arrived at an event commando-style.

Apparently, as per Huffington Post, there’s a “side-butt” craze, which Hilton is helping to keep alive. She's revealed her bare derriere at the Grammys and also a few days ago at the Senate Music Group's Pre-Grammy Celebration on Thursday.

Though the “side-butt” craze seems like something that would typically get the Twitterati talking, people were more concerned about Hilton and Birdman showing up to the Grammys together. Many just didn’t expect it. Some wondered if they had worked on a song together. Others just thought it was one big joke. Check out what they had to say below:
