Why Did Taylor Swift, Calvin Harris Split? Sources Say Cheating Was Not A Factor

Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris may have called it quits, but don’t expect an angsty breakup song from either of them.

People magazine reports that the split was free of drama. Swift, 26, and the “This is What You Came For” artist, who were together for more than a year, simply decided that their relationship was no longer working, according to a source. The insider assured People that “no one cheated,” despite rumors. “There was no drama. Things just don’t work out sometimes,” the source said.

Us Weekly broke the news about Swift and Harris Wednesday. A source close to the “Blank Space” singer said she was doing “OK” following the breakup. Like the People magazine report, Us’ source said their relationship “just wasn’t working anymore.”

The demise of their relationship comes just weeks after Harris, 32, was involved in a car accident. The incident took place May 20 in Los Angeles and left the DJ briefly hospitalized. Sources told E! News he spent the week after the accident “keeping an eye on his body” in an effort to ensure that he was healing. Harris was said only to have minor injuries, though it is not known what those injuries were. He is, however, said to have been left in a state of “shock.” It is not known if Swift visited her then-beau in the hospital at the time of his accident, but she reportedly wanted him to rest and recover.

Swift and Harris got together in March 2015. The pair were spotted together for the first time at a Kenny Chesney concert in Nashville, Tennessee. In April 2016, she opened up about her beau in Vogue, calling their relationship a “really healthy, happy” one. She and Harris celebrated their anniversary with cake and meaningful gifts. Swift showed off the gold locket her then-boyfriend gifted her, while Harris snapped a video of a homemade heart-shaped cake he whipped up.
