Kate Middleton is rarely seen wearing shorts and short skirts for a reason.

One netizen took to Quora and asked why the Duchess of Cambridge does not wear short skirts or shorts. The question received different responses from royal fans.

Pamela Harvey, a royal follower, provided a number of reasons why Prince William’s wife stopped wearing shorts. According to her, “Shorts and short skirts are not elegant and therefore not the royal-approved dress code.”

She also added that shorts and short skirts are not impressive and are “too revealing” for many activities where the royals appear and are photographed. She continued writing that the Duchess of Cambridge is “old enough to possible have developed cellulite on her thighs” so she wants to cover it.

“Catherine is a member of the royal family by marriage, and adheres to their code of dressing. After all one never sees the Queen with skirts too short or in shorts,” Jen Burns commented.

“The Royal family have a few dress rules that can basically be summed up as ‘if it’s not for sale, don’t put it in the window’,” a different user wrote.

However, some netizens said that Middleton actually wear short skirts but very rarely. Harper’s Bazaar shared different snaps of Middleton wearing short dresses.

The Duchess of Cambridge sometimes wears above the knee dresses. Sometimes she does without wearing nude thighs.

Also, just recently, Middleton wore shorts when she joined Prince William for the King’s Cup regatta to promote their various charities. Many were shocked when the duchess arrived in shorts because she has never worn one after marrying Prince William.

Meanwhile, some are sad because they envied Middleton’s toned legs.

“I’m sad today. I saw Kate Middleton’s thighs,” one wrote before adding “I want her thighs.”

In related news, one boat race organizer confessed that she regretted the day she met Middleton. Following Prince William and Middleton’s split, the latter joined Sisterhood, an elite of group female athletes who row across the Channel to raise money for children’s hospices. However, a week before the race, Prince William and Middleton reconciled and the duchess pulled out from the race.

Race organizer Emma Sayle pleased with Middleton to stay and not back out. However, the duchess decided to play with the palace’s rules.

“It was one of the worst experiences of my life. I rue the day I ever met Kate Middleton,” Sayle said.
