Why Isn’t ‘Black Lightning’ On Tonight? CW Delays Season 3, Episode 5
Even superheroes need to take a night off every once in a while.
The CW’s “Black Lightning” is going on a short hiatus and will not be airing a new episode tonight. The show’s Season 3 premiere, titled “The Book of Occupation: Chapter One: Birth of Blackbird,” will reair instead.
A return date for “Black Lightning” has been set for next Monday, Nov. 11, which is when it will come back with Season 3, episode 5, titled “The Book of Occupation: Chapter Five.”
In the new episode, “Jefferson (Cress Williams) struggles with the effects on his family, leading to a decision with tragic consequences,” the synopsis shares. “Meanwhile, Anissa’s (Nafessa Williams) identity is threatened. Lastly, Agent Odell (Bill Duke) takes an important step toward winning over Jennifer (China-Anne McLain).”
Robert Townsend directed the upcoming episode from a script written by Brusta Brown and John Mitchell Todd.
Catch “Black Lightning” when it returns with Season 3, episode 5 on Monday, Nov. 11 on The CW at 9 p.m. EST.
