Why Isn’t ‘General Hospital’ On Today? ABC Schedule Delays New Episode
For “General Hospital” fans, being stuck in the house amid the coronavirus pandemic has guaranteed that they wouldn’t miss an episode of their favorite soap opera. Although viewers will still get a dose of “GH” on Friday, it will be in the form of a rerun rather than a new episode.
On April 3, fans won’t be watching the latest heartbreak in Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Jason’s (Steve Burton) relationship, or Nelle (Chloe Lanier) and Michael (Chad Duell) battle for full custody of Wiley (Erik and Theo Olson).
Instead, fans who tune into the soap opera’s normal time slot will see a special episode of “General Hospital” that aired April 2, 2019. Viewers will be taken back to the day in which Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) brought Laura (Genie Francis), Monica (Leslie Charleson), Bobbie (Jacklyn Zeman) and Scott (Kin Shriner) together at Gail’s (Susan Brown) request.

Alexis will hand everyone an envelope consisting of original blueprints of the hospital. As the group finds themselves partnered with different people, they will also see their paths separate.
Those who cherished the show during its broadcast in the 1980s will be especially grateful for this special episode. However, those who are eager to return to the present storyline won’t have to wait long before the new episodes resume.
When the new episodes of “General Hospital” air, viewers will see Jason and Sam hit a major roadblock in their relationship. As much as the two want to be together, Jason is no longer willing to allow Sam to put her freedom in jeopardy. Will Sam and Jason’s relationship survive a year and a half separation?
Elsewhere in Port Charles, Jordan (Briana Nicole Henry) will still be under Cyrus’ (Jeff Kober) thumb in hopes of securing TJ’s (Tajh Bellow) safe return. Will Cyrus keep his word and return TJ to Jordan?
New episodes of “General Hospital” are expected to resume on Monday, April 6 at 3 p.m. EDT on ABC.
