“Hawaii Five-0” returns on CBS with new episodes on Nov. 3. Norman Shapiro/CBS

CBS’ “Hawaii Five-0,” which normally airs on the network on Fridays at 9 p.m. EDT/ 8 p.m. central, will not be airing a new episode tonight.

The cop drama is going to be taking this week off and won’t be airing it’s next episode, Season 8, episode 5, until Friday, Nov. 3.

In the meantime, there’s still plenty to watch on CBS, especially if you like shows about solving cases. Season 2 of the “MacGyver” reboot continues tonight with its fifth episode of the season, though it’s airing at a special time. The show usually begins at 8 p.m. EDT/7 p.m. Central, but it will instead be taking over the “Hawaii Five-0” timeslot.

This switcheroo is happening to make room for a new, Halloween-themed premiere on the network of “Michael Jackson’s Halloween,” a one-hour animated special.

The hour-long broadcast will feature Jackson’s music as its soundtrack, and the voices of Christine Baranski, Kiersey Clemons, Alan Cumming, George Eads, Brad Garrett, Lucy Liu, Jim Parsons and Lucas Till as its characters. This means Till is pulling double-duty on the network tonight, as both a voice in this special premiere and the lead of “MacGyver,” which follows.

“Michael Jackson’s Halloween” follows Vincent (Till) and Victoria (Clemons), who meet on Halloween night and find themselves, along with Ichabod the dog, at a cryptic hotel located at 777 Jackson Street called This Place Hotel. Inside, Vincent and Victoria are sent on an unexpected, magical adventure of personal discovery, concluding in a dance finale featuring an animated Michael Jackson.

These two premieres are great for a fun, Friday night, but if you find yourself missing the allure of the detectives of Oahu, don’t worry because they’ll be back with an all-new episode next week, and the task force will be celebrating Halloween a little late in the new premiere.

“At Halloween, Five-0 must investigate a string of murders that mirror stories from well-known Hawaiian folklore,” the official synopsis reveals. “Also, Grover is called to visit a man hours away from execution who may hold the key to a case that has plagued Grover for years.”

Check out the premiere of “Michael Jackson’s Halloween” tonight on CBS at 8 p.m. EDT/7 p.m. Central and an all-new episode of “MacGyver” on CBS tonight at 9 p.m. EDT/8 p.m. Central. Then get ready for “Hawaii Five-0” when it returns with a new episode on CBS on Friday, Nov. 3 at 8 p.m. EDT/7 p.m. Central.
