Why Isn’t ‘Hawaii Five-0’ On Tonight? CBS Delays Season 8, Episode 8
Still stuffed from yesterday’s Thanksgiving dinner and ready to spend your Friday night relaxing on the couch while watching “Hawaii Five-0?” Sadly, there’s no new episode of the CBS drama to watch tonight. Not even a repeat episode, either.
That said, CBS has other options to watch while you chill out and wait for the next new episode of “Hawaii Five-0,” which will return next week.
If you already feel like getting in the holiday spirit, then you’re in luck because CBS will be broadcasting “Frosty the Snowman” at 8 p.m. EST, followed by “Frosty Returns” at 8:30 p.m. EST.
In the first of the two animated specials, “Frosty, that ‘jolly, happy soul’ whose old silk hat full of magic has turned him into a musical Christmas legend, once again demonstrates his unique showmanship,” CBS’ synopsis explains.
It’s narrated by Jimmy Durante and features the voices of Jackie Vernon (Frosty) and Billy De Wolfe (Professor Hinkle).
In the second half-hour program, with “the magic still in his old silk hat, the holiday season’s perennially popular original dancing snowman continues his adventure and skates on the edge of danger.”
Jonathan Winters narrates the special, while John Goodman voices Frosty.
Airing at 9 p.m. EST tonight, which is when “Hawaii Five-0” usually airs, will be a new program dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Grammys, titled “Grammys Greatest Stories: A 60th Anniversary Special.”
The two-hour long special event, according to CBS, “will feature rare archival footage, exclusive interviews and special appearances by multi-GRAMMY Award winners Christina Aguilera, Mary J. Blige, Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, Dave Grohl, Elton John, Bruno Mars, Chris Martin, Paul McCartney, Ed Sheeran, Bruce Springsteen, Sting, U2 and Keith Urban, among others.”
If these other programs don’t quite pique your interest as much as “Hawaii Five-0” does, don’t worry. The action-drama series will be back next Friday, Dec. 1.
When the show returns with its new episode “He Kaha Lu'u Ke Ala, Mai Ho'okolo Aku,” which is Hawaiian for “The Trail Leads to a Diving Place; Do Not Follow After,” McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) will pretend to be a pilot in order to investigate a plane crash that led to the death of a pilot in an air race.
The episode was written by Liz Alper and Ally Seibert, and was directed by Ron Underwood.
