Why Isn’t ‘Mistresses’ On Tonight? Season 4 Of ABC Drama Goes On Hiatus Until Aug. 8
Looks like martinis aren’t the only thing getting shaken this up summer. ABC’s Monday night lineup is also getting knocked around, causing the hit summer drama “Mistresses” to go on a lengthy hiatus.
The network is bumping the upcoming Season 4 episode of “Mistresses,” which typically airs at 10 p.m. EDT on Monday, for “Your Voice, Your Vote: The 2016 Republican Convention.” This is the first night of coverage of the political convention where politicians will discuss themes including security and immigration. “Mistresses” will then resume its normal schedule on Monday, Aug. 8, when the convention concludes.
That means fans will have to wait three weeks to find out how Joss (Jes Macallan) will react to Kate (Tabrett Bethell) dating her ex-fiancé Scott (Justin Hartley). In a promo video for episode 7, April (Rochelle Aytes) gave both Kate and fans a glimpse at how Joss would respond to her future sister-in-law locking lips with her former flame — and it wasn’t pretty.
“No!” she screamed with wide eyes, revealing that “if Joss ever finds out” she’ll be mimicking the self-defense moves she used on Rezza (Micky Shiloah) on Kate. Speaking of Joss’ physical altercation with the nephew of restaurant tycoon Jonathon (Navid Negahban), the three-week hiatus of “Mistresses” also suggests that fans have a few days to theorize whether Joss will be thrown behind bars once again.
In the trailer for the upcoming installment, it was revealed that Reza was pressing charges against Joss for assaulting him. In episode 6, Joss showcased her butt-kicking moves (which she learned after getting attacked in Season 3 by Wilson [Jarod Joseph]), when she saw Reza getting physical with a girl. Not wanting the woman to end up like she did at the hands of a disgruntled man, Joss whipped out the life-saving maneuvers she’s been practicing since Season 4 of “Mistresses” kicked off.
“Mistresses” will return to ABC on Monday, Aug. 8, at 10 p.m. EDT.
