Why Isn’t ‘Stumptown’ On Tonight? ABC Changes Schedule For Royal Family
Dex Parios is taking the night off. ABC’s freshman drama “Stumptown” will not have a new episode on Wednesday, Oct. 23. Instead, ABC has opted for some slightly more royal programming.
“Harry & Meghan: An African Journey” will make its U.S. debut on Wednesday at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC in the usual “Stumptown” timeslot. The one-hour documentary, produced by ABC News in partnership with ITN Productions and ITV News, will take viewers through Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s African tour.
In addition to highlighting their philanthropy, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex also give interviewer Tom Bradby some very personal interviews. The documentary, which has already aired in the U.K., includes Meghan explaining that she didn’t understand how tabloid scrutiny would plague her, despite warnings from friends, and Prince Harry revealing that the media reminds him of his mother’s death. Harry also touches on his rumored feud with Prince William.
Luckily, the royal interruption will only last a week. “Stumptown” will resume on ABC next week. Season 1, episode 5, titled “Bad Alibis,” airs Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 10 p.m. EDT.
The episode, written by Manuel Figueroa and Jordan Heimer and directed by Brooke Kennedy, will be a big deal for Dex (Cobie Smulders). She’ll be stressing over an interview that would help her officially become a private investigator. Of course, she won’t be able to solely focus on the meeting. She’ll be brought another case.
“Despite being ordered by Lieutenant Cosgrove to take time off, Hoffman [Michael Ealy] enlists Dex’s help to investigate a case. Meanwhile, Tookie’s [Adrian Martinez] culinary skills come in handy at Bad Alibi, and Dex stresses over an interview to become a certified PI,” the synopsis reads.
“Stumptown” returns on Oct. 30.
