Why Jennifer Aniston Rekindled Friendship With Brad Pitt After Justin Theroux Split

While some guests attending Jennifer Aniston’s birthday party earlier this month may have been surprised by Brad Pitt’s attendance, a report claims the 55-year-old actor provided emotional support for his ex-wife after her split with Justin Theroux.

After Pitt and Aniston divorced in 2005, the “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” actor went on to marry Angelina until their break up in 2016. Meanwhile, the “Friends” alum announced her separation from Theroux in February 2018.

According to Closer Weekly, Pitt comforted Aniston following her break up with Theroux. “Jen and Brad have been in contact for a while now. Jennifer said Brad was really there for her after her split from Justin – she’s told her pals he’s been a rock at times,” an alleged source revealed.

The supposed confidant claimed Pitt reached out to Aniston following his split with Jolie. “Brad was the first to make contact with Jen. She understood he was going through a hard time and wanted to be supportive,” the “insider” shared.

When Aniston and Theroux separated, Pitt reportedly contacted Aniston once again. “There’s a great friendship between them and they appreciate each other’s advice. Following Jen’s split from Justin, Brad returned the favor and was a sympathetic ear,” the mysterious tipster revealed.

The “source” went on to tell the outlet Aniston is “really happy” to be able to call Pitt a friend, however, that’s all they may ever be. “Brad knows her well and knows what to say to make her feel better. They had a great connection as husband and wife and it’s still strong as friends.”

Despite the report, neither Pitt nor Aniston have acknowledged rumors alleging they have comforted one another following their break ups with Jolie and Theroux.
