Why Kate Middleton Wore White Gown Like Queen Elizabeth, Camilla At State Banquet
Kate Middleton wore a white gown at Donald Trump’s state banquet like Queen Elizabeth II and Camilla Parker Bowles for a reason.
On Monday, the senior royals gathered together for the state banquet that Queen Elizabeth II hosted for Donald Trump and his wife, Melania. Prince Charles, Camilla, Prince William, Middleton and Prince Harry were all in attendance for the said event.
The Queen, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duchess of Cambridge were equally stunning in their white gown and sparkling tiara. There is no dress code for the said event but there’s a reason why the three royals wore a white outfit.
“The Queen and the Duchess of Cornwall more often than not wear white for a state banquet, which works best with sashes and jewels” he wrote on Twitter.
He also pointed out that Middleton used to wear red and blue gowns for the same event, but this time she also opted for a white dress because of her sash.
“There are no hard and fast rules. In the past the Duchess of Cambridge has worn red or blue, but now she has a Royal Victorian Order sash to wear,” he said.
According to Hello!, Middleton has attended several state dinners and didn’t wear white in all of those events. In 2015, Middleton attended her first state banquet at Buckingham Palace to welcome the President of China, Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan to the U.K. For the said event, she looked gorgeous in her red gown by her favorite designer Jenny Packham. She accessorized with Queen Mother’s sparkling Lotus tiara.
In 2012, the Duchess of Cambridge attended a state dinner in Malaysia. She arrived in a white gown by Alexander McQueen. Her getup features golden motifs of the hibiscus flower, the official flower of Malaysia.
In July 2017, Middleton joined another state banquet at Buckingham Palace to honor Spanish royals King Felipe and Queen Letizia. For the said event, she wore a pink lace Marchesa gown that became a favorite of her royal fans.
In October 2018, Middleton attended a state dinner held in honor of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of Netherlands at Buckingham Palace. Prince William’s wife wore a blue taffeta gown by Alexander McQueen and sported her favorite Lover’s Knot tiara.
