Lindsie Chrisley is opening up about her complicated relationship with her estranged reality star father Todd Chrisley and why she isn't holding out hope for a reconciliation any time soon.
The 31-year-old "Coffee Convos" podcast host said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that she will "never" reconcile with her estranged family after her father talked poorly about her in the media.
"There will never be a reconciliation," Lindsie said. "I think that the most that anyone could ask for at this point is for everyone to go on with their lives as they see fit and to just leave the other side alone. But at this point, there will be no chance for reconciliation. And unfortunately, I’m going to continue to respond to whatever allegations are put out."
She went on to share that going to therapy helped her realize she needed to distance herself from Todd and their family's show, "Chrisley Knows Best."
"Through therapy over the last year, I had just been advised by my therapist to not tune in, to not follow along on social media, things that were being posted because it's triggering to me," Lindsie said. "So, I try to distance myself from that as much as possible."
Lindsie revealed that she has been told some of the comments that have been said about her by her family members. "And it's hard not to want to respond to those things. Because some of the things that have been said either are just categorically false or maybe the intentions I don't feel are pure," she explained.
Todd had claimed to Entertainment Tonight in August that he found out about Lindsie's divorce from now-estranged husband Will Campbell through a text message. He said he turned it over to his attorneys because they didn't think it was "safe to communicate" with her given their previous legal issues.
However, Lindsie claimed that she has tried to speak with her dad "multiple times" to sort out their issues but has "never been taken up on it," despite Todd having no problem speaking about his eldest daughter publicly.
While she admits to missing her family, Lindsie confirmed that she and her son Jackson, 8, currently have no contact with any of her family members, including her dad, stepmom Julie Chrisley and sister Savannah Chrisley. She said she believes that their current situation is "healthier" for her.
"I need to protect my peace and I don't want to be drug up in drama all of the time. And unfortunately, I have been the person that drama is always surrounding because I'm not a part of them, you know? And so I'm the outsider looking in. And so I'm always the target," she added.
Lindsie first left her family's reality show in 2017 due to differences with the Chrisley clan.
In 2019, Todd accused Lindsie of having extramarital affairs with "Bachelorette" contestants Robby Hayes and Josh Murray, Us Weekly reported. Lindsie claimed in a police report at the time of his accusations that he also threatened to "release [a] sex tape" involving her and Hayes.
After Lindsie announced in July that she and Campbell were getting divorced, her dad shared a message on Instagram about a father's love for his child, which some had taken as a sign of support for his daughter.
However, when asked about the post, Todd said it was "Biblically based" and was meant to be an encouragement to his Christian followers. He insisted that there was "no purpose or intent" when he posted the message and that he had no intention of reconciling with Lindsie because "the hurt is still there."
"I am not interested," Todd told People about meeting his daughter, adding that there are "certain things in life that I don't think you get past. And unfortunately, I think that's where Lindsie and I are."
