Why Meghan Markle Has Been Leaning On Friend Amid Controversies
Meghan Markle has reportedly sought the advice of her pals, including George Clooney's wife Amal, after finding out that she is pregnant with her and Prince Harry's first child.
According to a source, Amal Clooney, who has two children with George, has been a huge source of support for Markle over the past several months. Duchess Meghan and Amal apparently became close after the former "Suits" actress moved to London in preparation for her royal life, so it is no surprise that Prince Harry's wife has been leaning on her.
"Amal has been a wealth of knowledge on so many things and helped Meghan settle in," the insider told E! News. "She's given her advice on celebrity and living in the public eye. They've enjoyed sharing stories of travel and humanitarian causes. They often bounce ideas off of each other."
Amal apparently loves Markle and was happy when she heard that the duchess was becoming a mom. The duchess also adores the human rights lawyer and trusts her advice.
"Meghan goes to Amal for many things and really trusts her instincts," the source continued. "Amal adores Meghan and is thrilled to see her become a mother. They will be living very close to one another and hope to see each other often. They have an understanding and common ground that has really helped Meghan and provided her with support."
Like his wife, George, who is a close friend of Prince Harry, is also supportive of Markle. In fact, he has spoken out in defense of the pregnant duchess during a press event in February.
"She’s a woman who is seven months pregnant, and she has been pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was and its history repeating itself. We’ve seen how that ends," Clooney told Australia's Who magazine of Markle.
Markle is currently on maternity leave and awaiting the birth of her and Prince Harry's first child. The couple had already moved into their new home, Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, and the newest member of their family is expected to arrive this month.
