Why Meghan Markle Is Living ‘In Fear’
She scored what many would call the dream life after she married Prince Harry in May, but that doesn’t mean that Meghan Markle isn’t living with fears that her fairytale is turning into a nightmare.
According to Us Weekly, the Duchess of Sussex has become so stressed and upset by her father, Thomas Markle, constantly speaking to the press, that she’s living “in fear” that she will never be able to trust him again, and his constant comments could be making their relationship impossible to repair.
“Meghan is so upset over Thomas,” a source told the magazine. “She’s upset for a couple of reasons. She doesn’t even know how to communicate with her dad without knowing he won’t exploit her. She lives in fear that he’ll leak their communication. If he’s spoken this much already, why wouldn’t he leak their conversation?”
“She would like to speak to him, but there is no trust there anymore,” the source added. “And it doesn’t seem like it could ever be rebuilt. The damage is done.”
The drama with Markle’s father began when just days before her May 19 nuptials, it was reported he would no longer be able to attend the wedding and walk her down the aisle after he suffered a heart attack. Since then, he has spoken out in the press several times against the royal family, claiming they were barring him from having contact with his daughter, and even claiming that he knew his daughter wasn’t happy with her new life due to a “pained smile.”
However, the source maintains now that everything is becoming too much for her, and that the Duchess feels like she has no choice but to ignore him as a result.
“First, he faked this weird heart attack, which he hasn’t admitted was fake, and now he’s doing all these interviews,” the source said. “She has no other choice but to ignore him.”
Her father is not the only member of her family Markle has been having issues with. Her half-sister, Samantha Markle, has continued making comments in the press and on Twitter, despite others sticking up for the Duchess.
