“I’m happy it’s almost over,” Joon-Ho said with a slight chuckle.
They then asked him what it would mean to him if he were to win the Oscar for Best Picture, to which he replied: “I don’t know.”
The awards show season has been going on for the last several months now and Joon-Ho has been at just about every single one of them. So far, “Parasite” has taken home the Golden Globe award for Best Foreign Language film, Writers Guild of America Award for Best Original Screenplay, BAFTA Awards for Best Original Screenplay and Best Film Not in the English Language, amongst countless other accolades.
There’s no doubt that the director is exhausted, but he’s in the home stretch with award season being capped off with the Academy Awards on Feb. 9.
