On July 14, the stars of "The Lion King" stepped out for the premiere of the new Disney film. The event, held at London's Leicester Square, was attended by a wide variety of people, but all eyes were on Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle as they met cast member Beyoncé.

While fans of the royals had wondered if they had previously met the "Spirit" singer before, this marked the first time that the trio was ever seen in public. However, Beyoncé was reported to be "very nervous" about the meeting, as noted by Showbiz Cheatsheet.

In a "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" interview, Billy Eichner, who voices Timon in the film, revealed that each guest had to be prepped by royal staff before they were able to meet Meghan and Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Additionally, he divulged that an email was sent ahead of the event that he said included information about the "intense" protocol.

"We were all kinda nervous, even Beyoncé," Eichner told Kimmel in the interview. "You're supposed to say, 'Your Royal Highness,' you can't speak until your hands are like in a handshake with his."

Another thing that the "Billy on the Street" host revealed was that his plus-one for the evening was made to silently stand behind him unless he was directly addressed by either member of the royal family.

In addition to the strict rules that they had to follow, fans speculated that another reason why the "Formation" singer, who voices Nala in the film, may have been nervous about the meeting was that she respects Meghan. This was because during her and husband Jay-Z's acceptance speech for Best International Duo at The BRIT Awards in February, the pair stood in front of a portrait of Meghan.

However, it is said that Beyoncé was not the only person who was a bit nervous about the meeting as Meghan had previously posted about the songstress on her now-defunct Instagram account.

Royal commentator Omid Scobie told Yahoo UK that the nervous energy was obvious when watching the two women interact. "Considering they're two very confident women, they seemed a little shy of each other," he said, adding, "And I asked someone before Meghan arrived, 'Is she nervous?' They were like, 'A little bit, but mostly excited.'"

Upon meeting, though, it is said the pair discussed parenthood, and that Beyoncé even offered the new mom a little bit of advice. Judging from the outside, it seems as though the two got along well, but no word on if they have plans to stay in touch.
