Why Prince Harry Won’t Be Able To Recreate Princess Diana’s Minefield Photo

Prince Harry will be traveling to South Africa with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their son, Archie, for their first royal engagement as a family.

While there, the Duke of Sussex is expected to visit some of the places that Princess Diana went to during her trip. Years ago, the Princess of Wales was photographed walking through a minefield in Huambo, Angola.

Even though Prince Harry will also visit Angola, it is unlikely for him to be photographed while walking through a minefield. According to The Sun, the minefield in the Princess of Wales’ photo no longer exists.

At present, the minefield has become a street that’s filled with shops and schools. Prince Harry will also head to the exact spot during his 10-day tour of South Africa.

Prince Harry will also follow in Princess Diana’s footsteps by remote detonating a landmine before visiting the land that the Princess of Wales helped demine. Markle’s husband will also see his mother’s legacy throughout his visit to South Africa.

The Duke of Sussex will be in Angola for three days during the 10-day tour, and he will also meet up with the charity that Princess Diana previously teamed up with. The announcement was made on the Sussex Royal’s Instagram account.

“The Duke is especially proud to continue the legacy left by his mother with her work in Angola as he joins Halo Trust again in an effort to rid the world of landmines,” the statement read.

According to Mirror, Markle and Archie will not join Prince Harry in Angola. The new dad will head to the west-coast country by himself. Prince Harry will not be joined by his wife and son when he heads to Malawi and Botswana.

The Sussexes’ royal tour will kick off on September 23 in Cape Town. While there, they will watch a workshop that teaches kids about the importance of self-awareness and safety.
