Why Prince William And Kate Middleton Won’t Bring Prince Louis To Church On Christmas
The royal family is expected to attend a church service on Christmas, but not every member will be in attendance. Expect the littlest royals to be left at home.
Every year, Queen Elizabeth II and her family go to St Mary Magdalene, Sandringham. However, Prince George and Princess Charlotte have never attended. The only time they went to a Christmas Day church service was in 2016 when Kate Middleton’s family hosted the royal children and their parents.
Prince William and Kate likely won’t bring Louis, who was born in April, to the church while he is so young.
Royal commentator James Brookes told Express that there are plenty of people at the estate to look after Louis while William and Kate attend church. “We have to remember there will be nannies and other household staff on hand to help entertain and look after the children, should the parents want or need a few minutes break, and in terms of the Christmas Day service, I’d say it’s unlikely we’ll see Louis.”
Brookes said not to count out George and Charlotte just yet, though. “The Cambridges might feel that now George and Charlotte have grown up enough and are old enough to accompany them,” he added.
Prince George, 5, and Princess Charlotte, 3, may have proved earlier this year that they can handle themselves in a Christmas service. They attended both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding as well as Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank without any interruptions. Royal watchers will have to wait and see if any children come to church on Dec. 25.
Despite rumors that Kate and William might spend Christmas with the Middletons, it has been confirmed that they’ll be in Norfolk, England, with the Queen. Meghan and Harry have also been confirmed to attend the celebration, but it is rumored that they turned down Will and Kate’s invite to stay at Amber Hall.
