  • Kate Middleton and Prince William's marriage is going strong
  • The royal couple has different roles but they take care of each other
  • Kate Middleton and Prince William are unlikely to get divorced

Prince William and Kate Middleton have been married for eight years, and it seems that their marriage will last.

One of the royal couple’s close friends recently told People that the secret to Prince William and Middleton’s old-fashioned marriage is their different roles. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also look after each other, and they also come together as a team.

In the book “Kate: The Future Queen,” royal author Katie Nicholl revealed that Prince William and Middleton already made a marriage pact very early on in their relationship. The two of them agreed that no matter what happens, they will end up together.

“There on the paradise island, William promised Kate that he was in the relationship for the long term. For the very first time, they talked seriously about marriage, and with the ocean before them and beneath the night sky, they made a pact to marry,” Nicholl said.

The pact reportedly came about following the royal couple’s breakup. During their decade-long relationship, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge split twice.

In 2010, Prince William finally proposed to Middleton, and she said yes. In 2011, the couple tied the knot at Westminster Abbey.

Not all royal couples have been blessed with lasting marriages. Princess Anne divorced Mark Phillips after a 19-year marriage. Prince Charles and Princess Diana also got a divorce 15 years after they tied the knot. Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson divorced 10 years after their wedding.

Meanwhile, there are also rumors suggesting that Prince William and Middleton could get a divorce. Speculations became rife after reports swirled that the Duke of Cambridge cheated on his wife with Rose Hanbury.

However, rumors regarding Prince William’s alleged infidelity were never confirmed by the palace and the royal couple. And rumors about Prince William and Middleton’s possible divorce should be taken with a grain of salt.
