Why Prince William, Prince Harry Won’t Speak In Public Amid Rift Rumors
On Sunday, Prince William and Prince Harry gathered outside of St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle to attend Easter service, but rather than exchanging pleasantries before and after the service, the brothers did not speak to one another.
Since Meghan married Harry in 2018, there have been rumors alleging the pregnant 37-year-old does not get along with her sister-in-law Kate Middleton. Eventually, William and Harry’s relationship was called into question and several royal insiders claimed there was also a rift between the brothers.
The Sunday service seemed to further fuel feud rumors after Prince Harry, Prince William, Kate, and several other members of the royal family were spotted waiting for Queen Elizabeth’s arrival.
Instead of standing near his brother and Kate, Harry was separated from them by Zara Tindall and her husband Mike Tindall.
Although Harry did share a laugh with Kate, he did not address William. According to People, William and Harry did not speak to each other on their way in or out of St. George’s Chapel.
Their lack of communication during the outing is reportedly due to the Palace’s plans to move Meghan and Prince Harry to Africa. Senior staff members reportedly believe the move would allow the couple to appeal to young people and would put some distance between the brothers.
Harry and William’s relationship reportedly began to fall apart after the Duke of Sussex told his brother he wanted to marry the American actress. Prince William cautioned his brother about moving too fast, but the advice left Harry feeling angry and hurt.
The brothers’ relationship reportedly never recovered. Nowadays, the two appear content with keeping their distance from one another.
Meghan, who is pregnant with her first child, and Prince Harry recently moved out of their cottage at Kensington Palace to Frogmore House in Windsor. Their new home is about 25-miles away from Prince William and Kate.
