Why Queen Elizabeth Sees Kate Middleton As ‘Friend,’ Meghan Markle ‘Younger Royal’

Queen Elizabeth II reportedly Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle differently, according to a body language expert.

Judi James recently told Express that Her Majesty regards the Duchess of Cambridge as a friend, but she sees the Duchess of Sussex as a younger royal. The body language expert also said that the monarch has some obvious similarities with Middleton.

“Kate was always a slow but steady integrator into the royal firm and her slightly traditional approach, making very few if any ripples in continuity, does seem to have resonated with the Queen, who increasingly appears to treat her as a friend as well as a daughter-in-law,” James said.

The body language expert added that just like the Queen, Middleton is also an adept masker who uses body language techniques that appear to keep her inner feelings hidden. The two female royals have also perfected a social smile and some non-verbal traits that are ideal for the job they do without encouraging any frenzied interest from the public.

Both Middleton and the Queen also look pitch perfect and James said that it may be safe to assume that they are the same way in private. While at the Chelsea Flower Show two weeks ago, the Queen showed the future Queen Consort genuine joy when she visited her garden display.

Meanwhile, Her Majesty’s relationship with Markle is much newer and they are also in their forming stage. The Queen treats Markle differently compared to Middleton because the “Suits” alum only became a member of the royal family recently.

“Although Kate and Meghan are the same age, the newness of Meghan’s integration into the royal firm means the Queen appeared to treat her as a younger royal when the pair went on a visit together and Meghan responded in a complementary, congruent way, using self-comfort hair touches and leaning into the Queen with her hand over her mouth in what looked like a bid to both share and stifle her own giggles,” James said.

But even though the Queen sees Markle as a younger royal, the two actually get along really well.
