Why ‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’ Star Kenya Moore Chose Not To Pursue Legal Action Against Ex Matt Jordan
There’s been no shortage of drama in Season 9 of “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” most of which centered around Kenya Moore’s contentious relationship with now-former-boyfriend Matt Jordan. The fitness trainer is said to have had several violent outbursts while filming, though only a few were captured by Bravo’s cameras.
Despite having been taped smashing garage windows, spray painting security cameras and assaulting a driver, Kenya opted not to get the police involved in her and Matt’s issues. She explained that decision during Season 9, episode 10 of “RHOA.” The former Miss USA explained that although she had decided not to go to the police, she was distancing herself from Matt. Kenya said the pair had “no future” together.
“I decided not to file a restraining order against Matt,” Kenya revealed. “I’m just going to take some time for myself. I don’t know what’s happening with him. Until I figure it out, there’s no future in it.”
Kenya, 45, announced in December that she had no intention of giving Matt any more chances. She opened up about their dramatic split during an interview with TMZ, telling the publication that although she had in the past, she would not be taking her former beau back this time around. Additionally, Kenya claimed that Matt had texted her more than once since their breaking. Many of the messages were “threatening” in nature, according to the “RHOA” star, though she added that Matt occasionally fluctuated between his anger and pleading for her to take him back.
“It goes up and down,” she said. “One minute it’s a threat, the next ‘I love you and want to be with you.’ But I’m over it.”
For his part, Matt has claimed that much of what’s playing out between him and Kenya on this season of “RHOA” is manufactured drama. In a December 2016 Instagram post the fitness guru attempted to clear the air. He suggested that the Season 9 birthday party that Kenya was portrayed planning and executing for her boyfriend was “fake.” Matt also claimed that Kenya not only requested that her return to Atlanta from visiting his sister in California, but purchased his ticket home. Matt alleged that the “whole abusive boyfriend thing” was a farce constructed by Kenya.
“Tell the truth about the fake birthday party you planned purposefully a day before YOU booked me a flight back to ATL. So it would look like I just didn’t show up,” Matt wrote. “Since you’re the one that asked me to come back. SHAME ON YOU.”
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo.
