Why This 'Real Housewives Of Orange County' Star Cussed Out Production Over Season 15 Casting
Tamra Judge just spilled the tea about the events leading up to her exit from "The Real Housewives of Orange County."
While talking with Us Weekly, the former Bravo reality star revealed that she had actually wanted to announce she was quitting the show at the Season 14 reunion but was talked out of it.
"I had said that I was going to just retire. I was just going to be at the reunion [and] just say, 'You know what?'" she recalled. "And people told me there … They’re like, 'Listen. Don’t do that. You don’t know what the future holds. Just don’t make any rash decisions. You’re super emotional.' So I didn’t say anything."

As time crept closer and closer to the beginning of filming for the upcoming season, Tamra came to the realization that it was going to be tough given all the personal things that were happening in her life -- like her ex-husband's cancer diagnosis. Little did she know that the network had other plans.
"I had gotten a call and I was camping and the producer said, 'Hey, we want to talk to you.' And I’m like, 'What’s up?' And they’re like, 'Well, the network has decided to go in a different direction.' And I’m like, 'What?! OK, well I thought we start filming in a couple days.' And they’re like, 'Yeah,'" the 52-year-old shared. "They even said, 'We’re shocked. We’re completely shocked at this.'"
That's when they offered the mother of four a demotion to what they called a "limited role" for Season 15 of "RHOC" under the false assumption that she wouldn't accept a "friend" role.
"I’m like, 'No, thank you.' That’s not what I said. I said, 'F off!' And then I just took a week or so and I just absorbed it. ...I cried and I was scared," Tamra said. "I always wanted to go out on my terms, and yeah, I’m a little bummed about that, but whatever."
Despite how things ended, Tamra wouldn't be opposed to returning to the drama-filled show in the future. She was even encouraged by "Housewives" executive producer Andy Cohen who told her, "Let’s revisit this the following season."
Tamra announced she quit "RHOC" in late January, around the same time that Vicki Gunvalson shared that she was not asked back for Season 15. Both ladies were the longest-reigning "Housewives" for that branch of the franchise and although they left the reality show, it is not the last time fans could possibly see them on television.
Shortly after revealing their status on Season 15 roster, the duo shared that they were working on a new project together and teased that unlike the Bravo series it would showcase their "real life."
"It’s going to be an incredible show," the OG of the OC said. "Tamra and I, we’re good together. We have great chemistry and we’re having fun. We’ve got a really special journey happening. It’s something that will really inspire people. I can’t say much more, but I know it’s going to be a show people love."
Season 15 of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" is expected to return later this year.
